Add Firecrawl to Qodo Command so your Qodo agents can search the web and read pages. Qodo Command starts the Firecrawl MCP server as a local process, using your API key.
Qodo is retiring its IDE plugin on October 30, 2026 and moving local workflows into the coding agents you already use. This page covers Qodo Command, which reads MCP servers from a project file.

Requirements

  • Qodo Command, installed with npm install -g @qodo/command and signed in with qodo login.
  • Node.js 22 or newer.
  • A Firecrawl API key.

Quick setup

  1. In your project root, create mcp.json:
  1. Create agents/research.toml and give the agent access to the server by name:
  1. Import the agent from agent.toml at the project root:
  1. Run the agent and list the available tools:
Keep mcp.json out of source control, because it holds your key. See Run MCP locally for the full list of environment variables.

What you can do

Navigate, click, and fill forms to reach the data you need.

Alexandria

Discover structured data tools, inspect inputs and pricing, then run them through Firecrawl.

Troubleshooting

  • list-mcp shows no Firecrawl entry: confirm mcp.json sits at the project root, or pass --mcp-file=path.
  • The agent never calls Firecrawl: check that tools in the agent file contains "firecrawl", matching the key in mcp.json.
  • The server fails to start: run node --version and confirm it prints 22 or newer.
  • The server returns 401: replace the value of FIRECRAWL_API_KEY in mcp.json.
